I work with individuals who are going through big life changes

Even planned for changes (and ones to celebrate!) can be stressful. Maybe you are reeling from a change that came out of nowhere and knocked you over, flooded you with heartache and pain, and triggered fear that won’t go away.

It could be changing jobs, having a baby, recovering from a crisis, starting a relationship, grieving a loss of a beloved person or pet, caregiving for an aging parent, moving, going through a break-up, healing from a recent or past trauma, getting married, recuperating from an illness (and as it is with life, the list of changes we could face goes on and on).

I work with individuals who are navigating relationships in their life.

Life is relationships – with family, friends, work colleagues, our significant other. Relationships can be rich sources of support and also wells of stress and frustration.

Maybe you are dealing with the roller coaster of dating while searching for love, are in constant conflict with your partner, figuring out boundaries in your relationship your parents (or in-laws) now that you are an independent adult, trying to understand your own patterns in relationships, creating new friendships, trying to find ways to feel more connected and less alone.

I work with individuals who are trying to quiet the storm inside.

Maybe you find you are working so hard to feel less depressed and anxious, less hard on yourself, less caught up in your own head, and stronger in your own voice and truth.

If you want things in your life to be different, therapy can be a way to
transform stuck-ness into movement and growth.

That I will be able to help you feel more confident and sure of yourself, that you feel you can handle whatever life throws your way.

That you will have a deepening understanding of yourself and be able to “catch” when you are getting stuck in old ways of thinking and being that don’t serve you anymore.

That you will be able to create more of a balance in your life – both in how you feel on the inside and also in your day-to-day life.

That you will feel like you come away with the tools that you need. That you will feel stronger and surer – that you have conquered an old familiar dragon or found your way out of a deep dark forest back into the sun.

How we will work together

 After a brief consultation call, we will schedule your first appointment. In that first meeting we will both decide if it feels like a good fit to work together.

We will identify goals you are working towards and throughout our work we will track progress you feel you are making towards those goals.

Typically we will meet weekly and therapy can continue based on your needs.

(Sessions are in person at my office. Teletherapy is available on a case-by-case basis, though is generally not covered by insurance).

 What will we talk about?

You can bring any topic you need to to therapy. Here is just a small sample of what we may talk about in our sessions:

  • How you see yourself and where those self-talk messages come from
  • Self-criticism vs. self-compassion
  • Boundaries and self-care strategies
  • Relationships and why they matter so much to us (and should!)
  • Coping strategies – which ones are working and where new ones can be added
  • Depression and anxiety – the impact of it and how to address it
  • Medications – why and when they are worth considering
  • Grief and loss – how to take care of a broken heart and help healing begin, and the unique heartbreak of pet loss
  • Mindfulness – how being present in the moment can help us help ourselves

Additional support I can provide:

  • Recommendations for books & articles specific to what you are going through
  • Referrals for additional support when needed
  • Tools and resources you can put into practice outside of sessions

Fees & Insurance

The fee is $130/session (45-55 minutes long).

If you want to use your insurance coverage, I am in-network with BCBS PPO & BlueChoice, Cigna, Optum United, Magellan, and Medicare.

If I am out-of-network for your insurance, I can provide you a receipt to submit to your insurance for out-of-network coverage.

A sliding scale fee is available through OpenPath.

Why I love doing this work

I feel really lucky to be entrusted with both bearing witness to my clients’ story while also helping them find new ways to write what is next for their life.

I’d love to get to celebrate with you when a change you’ve worked so hard to has happened. (And I’ll make sure we don’t miss seeing these successes when they happen! My clients often hear me say with excitement, “Hold on a minute, do you remember what it used to be like? Do you see how different things are now?!”)
